We have LOTS going on.....
Here are some opportunities if you would like to help.
-Sponsor a new pair of tennis shoes for an orphan in the Philippines $25
-School Fees for orphans in African - final 1/2 of school year $75 each for 10 orphans
-School Fees for 7 children living in poverty in India $105 each
-Monthly support for Brazil missionary family $500 per month
- Possible vehicle repairs for a Pastor in Tanzania
-Shipping costs for uniform orphan Ts (if you have a large family you know what it's like trying to keep tabs on everybody in public venues, right?
-We will be working to fill orphan shoeboxes for Christmas for their boat shipment in July, there will be items to purchase for in the shoeboxes and shipping costs, minimum $195
-We are shipping supplies to the Philippines almost every other week - 2 boxes for boat shipments plus the supplies to go in them is a minimum cost $130
We could use some volunteer help to join our staff.
We need folks who will work within the systems we have in place.
We have a lot of work to do and we know how it needs done, we just need the extra hands to do it.
Here is what we need.
-Kitchen/Laundry Help: wash dishes (staff & some thrift store dishes), wash towels and cleaning rags used in house; wash a few clothes that we deem necessary - not cost effective to was everything that comes in; maybe you can't do the jobs our current staff people do but by helping with dishes and laundry you free up their time to attend to what they need to do. This person could help 2-3 hours daily or a couple days a week
-Donation Processor Assistant: As we sort and price we have items that need to go to our mission room for missions projects, to the kitchen for cleaning, to the ebay room for research/listing. With the overwhelming amount of donations we need someone to be willing to take these items to the different departments and put them in the appropriate places. This would require someone willing to commit to volunteering daily for 1/2 day or all day -or- several people that could commit to one day or 1/2 day.
-ebay listers: We need people willing to help list items on ebay. We will train you! You would be responsible for cleaning items, taking pictures and then listing. We have openings for ebay listers on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If you want to list and not take pictures of if you want to take pictures for someone else to list that can be worked out.
-Janitorial Help: We need people willing to clean and stock 3 bathrooms; people to dust shelves in the thrift store; people to sweep (broom and dustpan) to keep dust bunnies under control. This could be people willing to come in for a couple hours on any weekday or possibly on a Saturday. The goal would be to have one person every day for these tasks whether the same person or several different people. If you want to dust but not clean toilets, we will accommodate that and vice versa.
-Large electronics testor: test TVs, DVD/VHS players any media type electronic. This is on a as needed basis and would only take possibly a couple hours a week.
-Stockers: We need help stocking the store, however for this volunteer position we require that you spend a few days straightening shelves and learning where things go so that we can keep our store organized. A stocker can volunteer any Mon-Sat for a few hours, 1/2 day or all day.
-Department volunteers - maybe you would love to just help with one "department' of the thrift store. For this you would just come in for a few hours every day or every day or every other day, whatever works for you and stock/straighten your "department". Currently we could use someone for these 'department' areas" Christmas, Crafts; Office Supplies, Household Decor, Kitchen, Dishwares, Electronics, Shoes, Curtains, Books; Records.
