Food for Thought


 Within the next day or so, elders in Tanzania will be given food to last them for one month. Elders.... men, women challenged each day to keep going in a life that truly presents many difficulties. Just finding nourishment is a challenge. For as little as $5-$10 per month, we can feed ONE elder or ONE orphan. Barely a meal time that I have the privilege to enjoy goes by without giving thought that in Tanzania an elder or an orphan may be literally starving to death. I have received the photos of orphans and an elder in their coffin who died simply because of lack of food. It is unsettling. I have cried tears over adults and children I will never meet this side of Heaven. Sure, maybe it was their time to die..... but maybe it wasn't..... 

It's hard to believe that people anywhere in this day and age are going without food or clean water.... The only reason this can be so, is because we have chosen to not take to heart God's scripture about equality. 

13 For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened; 14 but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may supply their lack, that their abundance also may supply your lack—that there may be equality. 15 As it is written, “He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack.”

God has opened this door of opportunity for us to meet basic needs of orphans and elders in a specific region of Tanzania. Before, you confront me with what I have heard many times over, that people are starving in my own country... know this.... we are doing at God's Share Program all that God has put in front of us to do.... that does include providing food in this country... but where food pantries are plentiful here, they are not in Tanzania. So, God has also presented this opportunity to us. For anyone that would want to partner with us for $5-$10 a month or more we would welcome your partnership.
